Xero-to-Asana Reporting Pipeline
Xero transactions to an Asana CSV, hands-free
9 modulesRouter with 2 branchesRuns every 15 min
The Problem
Finance teams export transactions from Xero, clean them into a spreadsheet, and attach them to the right task every time a job is completed. It's repetitive and easy to attach the wrong file.
How It Works
- 01Asana task completed
- 02Pull Xero transactions
- 03Write rows to Sheets
- 04Build CSV
- 05Attach to Asana task
- 06Clear staging sheet
What I Built
- Watches Asana for completed tasks on a 15-minute schedule
- Makes a direct Xero API call for account transactions
- Router branch 1: Iterator writes each transaction to Google Sheets
- Router branch 2: waits, reads the sheet range, and uses a Text Aggregator to build a CSV
- Uploads the CSV as an attachment on the Asana task, then clears the sheet for the next run

What Was Tricky
Both router branches start at the same time, so the CSV branch could read the sheet before the rows were written. A 1-minute Sleep module makes sure every transaction lands first, and clearing the range at the end stops old data from leaking into the next task's report.
